19 Feb 2016 Hana hardly appears in these scenes; it's Alice we follow as she learns about a legend in her new school, about a boy called Yuda (“Judas”), who  05/07/39 · Hana to Alice was an extremely wonderful movie, one that I wasn't expecting would get to me as much as it did. Rotoscoped anime is usually not seen as a good artstyle and thus ignored, though after watching this anime I have completely dropped those 'standards'.

As with a great many Iwai films the first third of The Case of Hana & Alice is meandering and self-indulgent but layered with lyrical moments and a keen grasp of adolescent psychology. The first act revolves around Alice's efforts to adjust to her new environment, dealing with embarrassing parents and bullying classmates.
